Best kohls to go for this season

Over centuries we have seen Asian women flaunting their beautiful eyes with tons of kajal, or kohl, as we call it. However a lot of girls have questioned about the best of all, which is smudge free, lasts longer and obviously looks dramatic! Following is a list of kajals that i recommend to use for your desired results.

1-LAKME EYECONIC KAJAL: Apart from the wordplay in the kajal’s name, this one is also known because it’s endorsed by Kareena Kapoor. It claims to have a wear time of 10 hours and is smudge-proof. It is also waterproof.  Though not much is known about the water-proof claims, it does stay on my lids for more than 8 hours unless I wipe it off with makeup remover.  Lakme is also the brand that introduced colored kajal. While their white iconic stick may be a little too bright for desi tones (a nude /beige pencil suits desi tones better ) , the brown, green, blue and grey look good on medium tones.  The grey from this range works great for simple smokey makeup and is a lot less dramatic than black.

2- MAYBELLINE COLOSSAL KAJAL: This is probably the best budget kajal available.  I say that with conviction because, not only is this kajal a huge crowd pleaser, it also offers the blackest black finish and has a dark matte finish (similar to bourjois kohl). Put simply, this is the best kajal to pick up on your next trip to India.  Maybelline recently released a turquoise blue in the same range that received rave reviews.

3-LOTUS HERBALS NATURAL KAJAL: This one comes with extracts of licorice ,almond and camphor. Since it is all-natural, it’s actually good for your eyes and lashes.  Texture-wise, the quality isn’t as great as a few others mentioned here. It does smudge and also is packaged more like a chubby stick than a kajal (reminiscent of lakme’s original satin kajal).  It is quite pigmented though and comes reasonably priced. Great for smudging.

4- L'OREAL KAJAL MAGIQUE: Loreal’s Magique comes in a retractable pen packing. The name seems almost french and the product is endorsed by brand ambassador Aishwariya Rai. So many cosmetic companies try to outdo each other with longer staying claims of their products today, and Loreal has jumped on the bandwagon claiming this product stays for about 12 hours!  The kajal stick itself glides on easily and stays smudge proof for long hours. It does however, not deliver as black a finish as Colossal Kaajal .  This might not be your best pick for outlining your waterline as it requires a couple of swipes to get a nicely pigmented finish.

5-SHAHNAZ HUSSAIN HERBAL KAJAL: Think authentic herbal products ,and Shahnaz Hussain can never be out of the picture. This kajal has some form of minty smell to it and gives a nice cooling effect when applied. It doesn’t irritate the eyes and has that nice old world kajal charm to it.  It comes in a lipstick shaped tube and does require sharpening after a point.  It is a little overpriced considering the packaging, functionality and brand value of the product.

10 best BB creams for winters

Hey guys! So winters are at its peak and most of us are complaining of too dry or too oily skin in this weather. (well most of us for the dry skin),. BB creams made their debut in 2011 and quickly conquered the beauty world. Most of the scholars believe that it basically stands for "blemish balm" or "beauty balm", but the general consensus is that they should provide moisturisation, SPF protection , and and sheer coverage alongside soothing and healing properties- preventing the need for numerous several products. With the addition of hyaluronic acid and anti oxidants, they help regenerate skin.
I have sorted out the 10 best BB creams that can be used confidently in winters.

1- MAYBELLINE DREAM PURE BB: With 2 percent salicylic acid, this superlightweight BB moonlights as a serious acne fighter. The sheer tint spreads so easily that you can apply it without a mirror, and it dries to a soft, almost powdery, matte finish.

2- ESTEE LAUDER CLEAR DIFFERENCE COMPLEXION PERFECTING BB CREAM: First, let's give props to this BB cream for being available in three shades, including one for dark skin tones. Then let's move on to the fact that it has salicylic acid (to exfoliate and clear pores) and SPF 35, andis oil- and fragrance-free (great news for all you sensitive types). Layer it under your normal foundation for added shine control or wear it alone for the perfect I'm-not-trying-too-hard weekend coverage.

3- OLAY TOTAL EFFECTS PORE MINIMIZING CC CREAM: With a brightening, pearlescent finish, this certainly isn't your typical mattifying do-all cream (and fine, it's technically a CC cream). The oil-free formula contains niacinamide to exfoliate and reduce the look of pores, and it left our tester's skin glow-y, not shiny.

4- DIOR: Dior's original BB cream was created for the Asian market, and their new formulation caters for a rosier skin tone. The 3 shades feature SPF10 protection, hydrarting properties and formula which adapts to suite your skin tone.

5-  NO. 07: With seperate formulations for dry, normal and oily skin,  NO.07 offers a nutrient rich formula to help prevent blemishes as well as SPF 15 protection, and a light, easy to apply texture,

6- GARNIER BB CREAM MIRACLE SKIN PERFECTER FOR OILY TO COMBINATION SKIN: This lightweight tint is a heavyweight when it comes to benefits: Mattifying minerals keep oil at bay for hours, the coverage is just enough to conceal imperfections, and the oil-free hydrators keep skin smooth. And at less than $10, it's a total steal.

7- L'OREAL PARIS MAGIC SKIN BEAUTIFIER IN ANTI REDNESS: This BB is green. Like, Shrek green. But when you start to blend it into your skin, it transforms to a warm, yellowish shade that's billed as universal but looks best on medium skin tones that are prone to flushing. Just a few dabs on our tester's perpetually rosy cheeks instantly neutralized her redness. And it feels just as light on bare skin as any daytime moisturizer.

8- RIMMEL: Affordable, blendable, light weight, mattifying, concealing. if you want your products to work hard on you, this is what you should get.

9- SHU UEMURA: This mousse formulation is as light as air, but provides good coverage, an impressively matte finish and SPF 30 protection. Best of all, it covers blemishes better than other light weight formulations,

10- REN: This truely multi-functional cream has anti-aging ingredients , SPF 15, and anti oxidant protection and a non oily finish. And that's as well as offering decent, medium coverage, making it a good alternative for foundation lovers.

Find your perfect Red Lip

FAIR WITH COOL UNDERTONES: A raspberry lipstick like Bite’s Cashmere Lip Cream in Sancerre (on Diaz and swipe at top) ($24; drugstore.com) “complements and warms up the cool pink undertones found in very fair skin,” says Cameron Diaz’s makeup artist Robin Fredriksz. A creamy formula pops just enough.
Also Try:
Kevyn Aucoin Expert Lip Color in Jorjia (at bottom, $35; bergdorfgoodman.com)
Jane’s Intense Color Lip Gloss (at right, $7; janecosmetics.com)

MEDIUM-LIGHT: A pinkish red like Lipstick Queen’s Velvet Rope in Private Party (on Rossum and at bottom right) ($50; spacenk.com) is best suited to medium-light complexions, especially if you dab it on with your finger to get an imperfectly diffused finish, says Rossum’s pro Jo Baker.
Also try (from left):
Kevyn Aucoin Expert Lip Color in Carliana ($35; bergdorfgoodman.com
Tarte’s Amazonian Butter Lipstick ($16; tartecosmetics.com)
Flower Kiss Stick in Rosey Garden ($7; flowerbeauty.com)

GOLDEN: A deep vivid berry like NARS’ Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg (swipe at top) ($25;narscosmetics.com) brings warmth and radiance to golden skin tones. The actress, who did her own makeup, says the shade must be fully pigmented. “Sheer reds make my face look dull.”
Also try (from center to right):
Soap & Glory’s Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Lacquer in Riot ($24; sephora.com
Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupte-207 ($32; barneys.com)

MEDIUM WITH YELLOW UNDERTONES: Olive, have you met orange? Complexions with yellow undertones turn a glowing tan with a little help from a tangerine-tinged bullet, says Ferrera’s pro Matin Maulawizada. To score her exact shade, swipe on Iman Cosmetics Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick in Hot (at bottom right) ($10; walmart.com).
Also try (from left):
Jane Satin Split Stick in Rockin’ Red, Available September 1 ($8; janecosmetics.com)
Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color in Blazing Red ($26; bobbibrowncosmetics.com)

MEDIUM WITH GOLD UNDERTONES: A medium complexion with light golden tones jibes with “a true red,” says Rita Ora’s makeup artist Kathy Jeung, who used Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Lipstick in A Kiss of Life (at top left) ($6; rimmellondon.com) on the star. “If you detect any undertones in the lipstick, they should be orange, not blue.”
Also try (from left):
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Vengeful Red ($30; sephora.com
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Neon Red ($8; maybelline.com)

MEDIUM WITH CARAMEL TONE: A brown-based red like L’Oreal Colour Riche in Raisin Rapture (at top center) ($9;drugstore.com ) is a pretty perfect match for caramel skin like Freida Pinto’s. Just make sure the hue has a hint of plum to contrast with your complexion, and a shimmery finish to enhance the glamour.
Also try (from left):
Cle de Peau Extra Rich Lipstick in 209 ($40; barneys.com
By Terry Rouge Terrybly in Narcotic Sienna ($49.50; Bloomingdales.com
Avon Ultra Color Bold Lipstick in Bold Bordeaux (Available August 22)($8; avon.com)

DARK WITH WARM UNDERTONES: “An opaque blue based red like MAC’s Ruby Woo (bottom left) ($16;maccosmetics.com) creates a gorgeous contrast with dark caramel complexions,” says Jennifer Hudson’s makeup whiz Yolonda Frederick-Thompson. “A matte surface makes it stand out even more.
Also try (from left):
Revlon Matte Lipstick in Really Red ($8; ulta.com
Diorific Haute Couture Long Wearing Lipstick in Dolce Vita ($36; dior.com)

DARK WITH COOL UNDERTONES: One word: Metallic. “A creamy ruby red lipstick like Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge in Rouge Velour (at bottom left) ($30; lancome-usa.com) needs shimmer to bring dimension and luminosity to deep cocoa skin,” says Lupita Nyong’O’s makeup artist Nick Barose.

Rainy days have proved to bug us a lot when it comes to makeup. Our skin feels weird and oily, and if you go out in the rain there are chances that your makeup might get smudged. Following are a few beauty products that you can use in rainy days to protect your makeup from becoming disastrous.

SISLEY PHYTO LIP TWISTS: We are obsessed with the non-sticky formula of Sisley's crayon shaped glosses ($50), which wont stick to your layers when the wind picks up, and can be worn either as a subtle stain or a full impact color.
CAROL'S DAUGHTER SACRED TIARE STYLING CREAM: Give your blowout extra insurance against the elements  by working a dollop of this coconut, moringa, and jojoba infused cream ($12), into your strands prior to styling, and you'll be rocking a perfect style regardless of the forecast.
MAC FIX+ : Not only does MAC's setting spray ($21) keep your immaculate contouring skills intact, but the blend of green tea, cucumber and chamomile also packs major benefits for your complexion.
ILLAMASQUA RAIN DROPS NAIL POLISH: We admit, spring rain can actually be quite soothing, and dare we say, pretty- provided we are not caught in it sans umbrella. Illamasqua rain drop lacquers $17 each),  create the mirror-like effect on your digits with tiny pearlized shimmer pigments.
ORIBE ANTI-HUMIDITY SPRAY : Oribe's innovative hair spray ($39) is like a poncho for your blowout, and once the sun starts to emerge, UV-blocking elements help to protect your hilights.
MAKE UP FOR EVER AQUA SEAL: Now all your products can be water proof, thanks to makeup forever  aqua seal ($21) . Either mix a drop in with your liquid or  powder products , or pat over the top to give your look extra staying power.
ANASTASIA BROW GENIUS KIT: Most water proof brow products tend to come on too strong, but Anastasia's Brow Genius ($24) imparts a natural effect that wont quit. Simply mix the powder with the innovative beauty genius waterproofing gel to create a paste, then apply using short, quick strokes with the precise angled brush.
NAPOLEAN PERDIS AUTO PILOT RADIANCE-BOOSTING PRMER: Getting some sun in between April showers can bea challenge, but Napolean perdis' primer ($55), is an easy way to fake a radiant glow, and also keeps your foundation from shifting.
EYEKO EYE DO LIQUID EYELINER: Ever have your graphic cat-eye transform into a raccoon eye by mid-day? Toss your standard liner for Eyeko's eye do ($19), which creates a precised shape with its pointed felt tip, and as an added bonus, the waterproof formula is infused with a dose of castor oil to promote lash growth.
BOBBY BROWN NO SMUDGE MASCARA: Just like the rest of Bobbi Brown's products, the no smudge mascara ($25), really lives up to its name (MY VERY FAVORITE!!) One sweep is all you need in a boost in definition, and the inky black formula won't flake, feather, or form dark circles along your lower lash line.

Hi all!! Alot of you have been asking about home remedies to remove acne scars fast. So here a few tips that you can follow to make your skin clearer. You can also get rid by following the methods mentioned in the previous blog.

ALOE VERA: This wonder herb, not only soothes swollen skin but also in regenerating damaged tissues boosting the healing process. Its better to use fresh gel like substance directly from the aloe vera leaf than to use over the counter products containing aloe vera.

HOW TO USE ALOE VERA: Take an aloe vera leaf and peel its outer green cover. You'll see a gel like substance beneath its green outer cover. Take out this gel and apply it on your scars. Leave it for about half an hour and then wash off.
Apply aloe vera gel twice daily to see the results in just a few days. Not only will your acne scars will diminish, but also your skin will start glowing and become tighter.

OLIVE OIL: Olive oil can be said to be the most skin friendly oil because it contains a whole lot of vitamins (A, D, E, C, B1, B2), iron and antioxidants. The anti inflammatory properties of olive oil also help remove acne scars.

HOW TO USE IT: You need to apply olive oil on your scars before going to bed.
You will need:
1- olive oil
2- warm water
3- a clean cloth or towel

DIRECTIONS:
• Take a little olive oil and gently massage your face with this. Focus more on the pimple scars.
• Massage for a few minutes till the time you can feel that all the oil has been absorbed by your skin.
• Now take a clean towel or cloth and drape it into warm water.
• Put the warm wet cloth on to your face to get the steam.
• Now wipe away the excess oil gently with the cloth. Don’t rub though.
• After 1-2 minutes, wash off your face with normal water.

BAKING SODA:
Baking soda is yet another popular remedy for removing acne scars through its exfoliating effects. The gentle coarse granules of soda mixed with water remove the dead skin layer off your face without any inflammation caused during the application.

• Gently massage your face with this paste focusing on pimple scars.

Raw potato can do wonders in removing your pimple scars if you allow them to work for days with patience.

RAW TOMATOES:
The red good tomatoes too can eliminate the scars from your face.

How to use raw tomatoes for acne scars

There are two ways you can do this -simple and and one which is not that simple. First, the simple way.
• Take a ripe red tomato and cut it into pieces.
• Crush the pieces to make a pulp of the tomato.
• Apply this tomato pulp on your face and leave for 15-20 minutes.
• Wash off your face.
• Repeat this daily for a week or two.
Now the second method for using tomatoes by making its mask

Make a tomato mask to remove pimple scars

You will need:
• Tomatoes- 2
• Cucumber- 1
• Avocados -2
Directions:
• Get the pulp out of tomatoes
• Grate the cucumber and avocados and squeeze out the juice.

• Apply on your face.

Have patience and treat your scars with these remedies and you will definitely get rid of your acne scars. Patience will be the main ingredient though, whatever remedy you adopt for your acne scars!
